Trashy

Well, today is one of those days. My sweetheart will be gone for a week, so hell.....why dress fancy?

Let's just dress down and take a walk through the mean streets of Midian. In case you didn't know, it's a dark rp community. Yes girlies, that means kidnapping, violence, drugs, gangs, capture and some wicked forced fantasy - but all within a story line.

When you enter for the first time - read the rules and put on the observer tag in the note. Really, wear it! If you wear a "Victim" tag, you could become a target. I swear, I have never seen sooo many victims in my whole freakin life.

Oh, and I must admit - the rumors are true - the guys are better looking in Midian. If you want an adventure - go check it out!!

This great trashy skirt has been in my closet for some time. It did appear a bit bright when i first put it on, so i did open the edit textures and toned down the white (click the color box) to a light gray. It did make a difference. I am looking a tad grungy tonight, but what the heck, it fits this sim.

This lovely white tank..needed a bit of dirt to fit the roleplay, so yes, you can buy a jacket of dirt! How great is that?

I did pick up a new skin today at Fleur. It was from the collection to the side of the main collection. I thought it would give me a bit of a moody look.

So go out tonight - walk the wicked streets - and check out those men!

Sophisticated 50's

What's with group notices these days. It's like they don't all get to me or something. Nooo...not any one group but most of them - What's up with that? Luckily I always peek into Ivalde's and see what I found? *Squeels!!!*

Prettiest little 1950's cocktail dress ever! For me the big bonus was getting both the system AND flexie skirts. This is such a two for one bargain. The details are amazing. The squared neck is not as common in SL - but I love it!

The bodice is beautiful. It makes you want to reach out and touch it.

Even though this dress was listed as tan - to me it looks a bit more gold, which is my favorite color for formal wear (along with champaign)

The smaller cream pearls accented the throat and made the dress pop a bit.

The Stilettos are of course the Nude ones from Maitreya (I should have bought the fat packs long long ago!)

As for the location - I broke into a residence on Retrology. If the owner of the place sees this blog....all I can say is.....oops. Sorry...no, really.

Well, It's time to go work on a high end speakeasy this time. Till next time...

Making Mischief

We are lucky to spend time in such a rich environment. It seems you can live any fantasy you like.

This special fantasy/role play out fit is a dryad ( a tree nymph). They are specifically from oak trees. In fact, some are so connected to their trees, that if the tree were to die, so would the dryad.

The wiki lists 14 different kinds of nymphs, and this is just one of them:).

Now for the big question - where do the little dryads play within Second Life?

Go to the Medieval Sims such as :
Avilion Mist

Aglarond

Legenda - This is an Italian language sim, I would highly suggest you pick up a copy of Babbler (you will be glad you did). Babbler is a nice little translator which is very easy to put on and use. This was a very friendly, very curious group of people. Absolutely beautiful sims.

My next stop was the kingdom of Azuria - When asked if a dryad could roam the forests, I was told I was one of the fae..and I was welcome. I told the gentleman I liked to make mischief. He did not seem put off by that (a good sign) and he mentioned I might want to carry a weapon. I replied "no, I like to tease and run". Of course, he did say I would need to play the on the "good" side. No problem - it doesn't mean I must be sugar sweet. It just means I must be careful about who I provoke :)

So now you have places to go and things to do.

Hair - Diversity, Tina - Butternut, I wanted a plain but short hairstyle, something natural - this style was perfect. I even had an excuse to wear a fun color!
Skin - Fleur Vivant Buff Lustrous 3
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Shy Copper Eyes
Leaves - Fairy's Grove Creations Main Store, Fall Dryad - I did notice the fall dryad was $300L in the store, but on SLExchange it is only $200L! I have always been drawn to the beauty of leaves. This costume will be used frequently. Best 200L ever!

Artilleri...

OMG - Antonia is retiring some goodies.

I dropped everything and headed over there right away this morning.

Check these sales items out:
Vicky Polka Dress
Carmen Lingerie
Kat's Meow Coats!
Wendy Pants
Hanna Skirt
Annie Tops
Sabrina Hair - WAIT - SABRINA HAIR...nooooo, where will I go when I forget to save a back (note the green hair).

The green hair was an oops on my part, seems I forgot to select "edit linked parts" from the edit menu. Lucky I was able to get it fixed. Just remember, now you have no place to run to when you mess this one up. I always tend to tinker with bands and barrettes.

The Hanna skirt has always been a favorite of mine. It was the first high waisted anything I ever wore in SL. It's an absolute keeper!

Well - off to listen to some great live music - this time LoveSongs Writer. I don't speak Spanish but i DO appreciate the beauty of it (such great artists here:)

Tough Girls

I haven't seen much vintage this week, but when it rains, it pours. Until then:

WooHoo - I have Friday off!! Doesn't get better than that. Let's celebrate with some roleplay/costume, ummm..fantasy wear.

Went to headquarters to get my marching orders. Then off for some adventure.

I decided to break into a few Sim bunkers.

My first Stop was the Phoenix Military Complex & Mt. My papers told me it was a busy little bunker, so off I went. My first surprise was that this was in FurNation. What??? Those cute little furry things fight? noooo..say it isnt so. The next surprise was the elevator. It's a tricky little thing. Be sure to touch the FLOOR of the elevator:). Pfft...security here was not too tight (I'm it!).

My next stop was Merczateers HQ Walked the perimeter, but dayum, tighter than Fort Knox! Lolz - now they are shooting at me from inside the compound! All I did was shake my jar of dirt at them:)) These guys are a tricky little bunch with what appears to be unusual weapons. Well, regardless, they sure look very sexy. Before I run of to get in more trouble, check out what I'm wearing:

Coat - Sinistyle, Death Dealer (also bought the expansion pack)
Shirt - Renegade, Urban Ranger Tank
Hair - Aden, Charlize Long (Black) - took very little editing for this fit!
Boots - Excellent military boots with a great fit! From The Abyss
Skin - Freckled Gala Noir Sol Sin Skin
Helmet - Nocturnal Threads, FraG-Head (look upstairs for this one) It has a great fit.

Just for Fun

Today I dressed for comfort and fun. This dress makes me think of peppermint and candy stripers, all young and fresh. This is one of my happy dresses. I absolutely love the way the stripes change to horizontal at the bottom!

The hair is familiar to most of us, It is Dayna over at Artilleri. I did change the colors of the ribbons - but be careful - always back up your hair first:)

Are you in the mood for and Adventure?
CHALLENGE:

I went to a sex room last night and was flooded with hellos. To be honest, I watched a bit (gawked) and wondered how those folks jumped in and out of sex so easily. I asked a nice gentleman (who was completely naked of course) if he knew how to touch. He had been here for some months. How could he NOT know how. Had no one ever taken the time to teach him in sl?

I put my hand on his shoulder, and he touched back! Ok, I thought, not so difficult. I figured if he could slow down enough to understand I was touching, there was potential!

So tonight i figure it is our duty as females to take a clicker (ha! I just found out what they were called:) by the hand and teach them something. Even if it is just a kiss. Come on, you can do it!

The more male touchers out there, the fewer single assertive women trying to seduce our sweeties/partners. It's worth thinking about.

Dress - Ingenue - Candy Girl
Hair - Artilleri, dayna v2 *red*
Skin - :GP: Classic-Vex (Skin Fair)
Shoes - Maitreya, Slinky Stiletto Red

Restless

The RL job has been a handful for the past few days and I seem to be feeling restless. It seems whenever that sort of thing happens I seek something different. This morning it was Lolita.

This is a new release and an absolutely stunning outfit. The box was full of lovely things:) which means different looks are available! Whew! This is always such a help on my moody days:)

The detail in the front is delicate and beautifully done - I do think it brings a lot of attention to the bust line. Of course this means I needed a great skin. Along with feeling restless, I was also a bit fragile this morning so I decided to wear a more innocent look. Sooo..I pulled out my newest Gala skins.

Ok, I know these darn boots aren't sculpty. Maybe they are ready for an update, but when push comes to shove, this was the perfect set of boots for this look. I didn't want them to be slinky and ultra sexy. I wanted detailing, calf high and not stilettos. I wanted a more innocent look.

I picked the stockings and necklace from my closet. Red makes the look pop!

One warning - you may THINK you don't need to wear the panties - but you do:)

Dress - beloved lolita ~silentsparrow~

Skin - :GP: Classic-Perse *SkinFair)
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Intense Garnet/Gold Eyes

This is a great 1920's inspired dress. Although the style is a bit 20's, the look as a whole is a bit modern, so I am putting this one under both Retro and 1920's

Cowgirls and Indians

Ok - I did warn you. I like to role play. A little fantasy never hurt any of us:). Most of these items are not new, but i like them and wanted to share them.

I decided on western wear this week. I'm not even gonna pretend these outfits are period appropriate - but they sure are fun!

To begin with, I really like this hat. It's worn over the brow a bit and has a firm fit. A native Texan would wear this kind of hat. Of course, it's a bonus that the hair comes with it. I did take the liberty of making the hair bands and barrettes red (I thought it would bring out the red beads in the top). Remember, always make a back up of your hair before you try to do things like that. On a side note - the hat is color changing on touch!!

I then added some tight jeans, a boho necklace and boots. These are incredible western boots. Sweet details and a great fit!

Cowgirl:
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Shy Fog Eyes
Skin - Gala - Medium-Gloss-Basic Gloss
Boots - SLink Jane Cowboy
Jeans - Drawmachine - Sexy Ass Jeans
Hair/Hat - ETD, Willis III
Necklace - Earthtones, Boho Necklace, Black - Ok, who besides me is irritated that Earthtones and Earthstones sound sooo much alike??

I bought a little Indian outfit for my first Halloween in SL™. WOW - did I get my moneys worth. I am wearing the same top in both the cowboy and Indian outfits. the little fringe in the skirt is all prim, so it all sways from side to side as I walk. It gives me that "all girl" feeling. I do still wear these moccasines - very nice colors, but they are not sculpty.

I think my favorite part of the Indian outfit is the hair feather (which is bought separately at Bobbysocks). It tends to sway along gently with my hair. this is a must buy if you get the dress:)

Indian:

Indian Dress - Bobbysocks, Tama

Native Suede Moccasins - Bobbysocks
Indian feathers - Bad Bobbysocks
Hair - [ND] "Maya" - Black Pearl
Skin - Gala - Tan-Mod Lips II-Pressed Rose
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Intense Brown Eyes

Location - Southern Cheyenne Land - New Mex, New Mexico

Lolz - A cowboy drew his gun on me as I was taking the Indian photos - so cover your back:) Have Fun!!

On a side note - I'm still figuring out how to place photos on the blog in such a way that they look ok on fashion Planet also. Yesh!! Trial and error:(

Wicked Times

With Neferia's newest releases, this one was the "must have".

Wow - It fit like a dream (soo easy to resize as needed). The lightly transparent layers on this dress are worn at both the stomach and the spine. This creates a much fuller effect than any other flapper dress I've seen in the game.

Those lovely, fun, impulsive Flappers:
  • were young
  • embraced modern things
  • smoked (with those long cigarette holders)
  • wore their hems above the knee (but not thigh high)
  • were flat chested (binding as needed)
  • flappers who were riskier refused to wear corsets and rolled their stockings to the knee to enable them to dance easily.
  • wore makeup
  • danced the night away (Jazz)
The above information was was pulled from : Flapper Fashion 1920's

To compliment the style (I couldn't bring myself to flatten the chest) I added the lovely Antique Headdress from Chapeau tres Mignon and pearls from Encore.

The skin gave the outfit a vibrant look. The bold red lipstick was a must!

If eyes are the windows to the soul, these are innocent eyes taking in a bold new world.

Necklace - Encore, Timeless double strand
Bracelet - Encore, String Pearl Bracelet (may no longer be available)
Hair - TRUTH, Mary in black
Dress - Ivalde, Alve in black
Eyes - [E] Babydoll - Grrrrey!
Lashes - *Sin Skins* Fluff Lashes
Skin - LF CHAI Skin -Ginger- Antique
1920's Antique Headress - Chapeau tres Mignon
Shoes - Maitreya (free)

Facelight - Caliah Lyon (Muse), I am using her suggested presets for lighting. *Look for the Windlight Notecard sign when you walk in - it will give you directions. I don't know how this woman did it - but this light setting absolutely works. A personal thanks from me to her - :)

Rockabilly Bold

Yep - That is how you can describe the style of Artilleri's Antonia Marat. This past weekend she set out tons of new things. Her stuff has loads of personality. *Basics - we all need them - how else will we match up the items we just HAD to have but nothing in our closets worked with them?

This stunning skirt, it's -- necessary, bold, stunning, fun and a basic wardrobe item. ok...I admit it - I got the Fun Pack. You heard me...... 8 incredible colors!! The little shimmer in the skirt gives it life. Check out the hem - I swear when you stand still you can't tell where one prim starts and the next one ends. Love the high waists (squeels!! on the jacket layer!!!). The black belt is a great detail that adds a bit of drama to it:) Gotta love drama like that!

The top was an earlier purchase for me at Artilleri. Oh my - Antonia DOES know her orange. The tones in the skirt and top match perfectly.

The hair - I do know there are at least 2 Marlyn hair styles out there. Happy to say I have them both. This one is fuller and the curls seem less tight (looks lush). The other one is shorter (looks sassy). Both are absolutely great!

Zoom in on the Vinyl - Kingston Augustus at Turnstyle is the creator. I love the way she uses pop culture and dang - this sure works with retro. Gotta love these earrings.

I felt since the hair was full and lush - the shoes should reflect that style, so I chose these black Verve Pumps over at Maitreya.

Hair - Curl Up and Dye Salon - Marilyn - SUNSET
Skirt - artilleri - carla circle skirt *orange*
Top - artilleri - tasty tiki dress top
Earrings - turnstyle - Vinyl LP Earring, Orange (comes in 7 bold colors!)
Shoes - Maitreya Verve Black Pump
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Romantic Jade
Skin - Fleur Vivant Buff Basic Red 1

Catching up!

Last night I did something I thought I would never do in SL™ – I started a group. What on earth would I do with a group? Well, you see, I have four passions in game and these are three of them:

*Creating furniture (and surprisingly, buildings lately). My stores name is Vignette.

*My Sim is also called Vignette. I wanted the things I create to tell a story. Since I didn’t have enough things to put in the sim yard and call it done – the majority of Vignette is currently a beautiful park.

*Style – I love vintage, retro and some roleplay items. I don’t make clothes – but I sure do love them!

The group is about the three things listed above. To give park updates, tell about releases, and maybe to gossip about the latest vintage releases around the grid. If your having trouble finding these types of things - maybe someone else in the group will know (whether it is a particular vintage texture, dress, or an old pirates cannon). No spamming aloud at all.

This is a vintage, retro, history related group. If in doubt – ask me. Search in Groups for Vignette.

Everything is in world at Vignette.
Take a look at my photos on the blog today!!! I am happy to announce that I was able to list a few things over the weekend on slexchange. Feel free to take a peek:)

These new items were inspired by the 1920's

OMG! So Many Releases

Oh my - two of my favorite stores had releases over the weekend and I bought way too freakin much! Well, I am a one outfit sort of girl so I didn't want to cram multiple outfits all into one blog entry. I'm the sort who savors things, men, chocolates, gifts and pretty clothes.

Since I was in a casual sort of mood I went with this stunning blue Gauthildr release from Neferia over at Ivalde first. This is a girlie girl kind of dress and the biggest bonus for me was the second skirt option. I do like the occasional system skirt. This one is stunning - check out those seams! The small wrinkles in the skirt bring it to life. When I had trouble making my purchases at Ivalde (cause 2L was being horrid), Neferia quickly stepped in and refunded my oops. Thank
you, thank you , thank you.

As for the hair I'm wearing - I absolutely love it! It is EDT's Solaera in Black. I'm a bangs kinda girl so this hair took me by surprise when I put it on. I swear i have the weakest forehead in the game cause this type of hair never fits, but
this time it was perfect! Sometimes it's worth the risk to try new things:)

Hair - ETD - Solaera *cough* freebie rack *cough*
Dress - Ivalde - Gauthildr
Skin - Fleur Vivant Buff Basic Red 1
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Intense Ocean/Obsidian Eyes
Necklace - *G&S* Black Pearl Strand Necklace
Bracelet - *G&S* Black Pearl Double Strand Bracelet

Date Night!!!!

It'd Saturday - Let's go somewhere!! Of course - put on something nice first:)

Wow!! This is 1950's with class.

The texture on this dress has an incredible beaded look to it (Enlarge the photo and take a close). I love, love, love the hemline on this dress:) - it's sort of scalloped - but less predictable. The waist is trim and moves in well toward the skirt (which I tend to be fairly picky about) and the tiny straps complete this very girlie girl dress.

I wanted the gloves because I knew they would catch his attention:)

This is a very sophisticated 50's retro look. The hair style worn had to be classy enough to compliment the retro look, but I didn't want it to pull attention away from the dress.

The choker was the perfect choice and the cherry on top was the lipstick. Something in a bold red. Well, I'm ready for date night:)

I've listed a few places for you to explore on date night. Soooo....When he asks - "what should we do?" you will not only have a plan, but you will impress the hell out of him:).

Amour Isle
Brooklyn is Watching
Comcastic (the lab is a hoot!)
Birka - Viking Port (gotta love the history!)
Aelin - interesting woods
Eris Island - the whole sim is worth the explore!

If you have places you would suggest be listed, and they aren't already picks on the blog, please share. It's always good to be prepared on a date night.

Dress - Ingenue - Lady Stardust - black
Skin - Fleur Vivant Buff Sultry 3
Hair - ETD Lynne II - Black
Choker - Second Mirage, Black pearl and silver cameo choker. I dropped by the store to get the surl but couldn't find the choker on the shelf - wonder why - it's a beautiful piece:(
Shoes - Maitreya Slinky Stilettos
Eyes - *Sin Skins* Romantic Pearl Eyes
Gloves - Tap Gloves Short Black (no longer available)
Seamed Stockings - Dark Grey Seamed Stockings by INSOLENCE

Gas???

I couldn't resist - my filling station (gas station) is now on Slexchange and can be seen in world at Vignette.

Per Wiki Answers - Gas prices in the 1920's were only .18 cents per gallon. The price of a new Chevy half-ton pickup truck was only $650. A used Ford was only $57.50 cents.

So if your looking for simpler times, a small town build or just plain eye candy, stop by and take a peek. This is a classic design of the 1920's.

Last night I was able to play catch up and list several things on slexchange, but dang - I do need to get more inventory listed there.

Thing is - I like little details. This means most items are sold in little vignettes. As an example - if you buy a 1920's stove, you will get and old kettle, cooking pot and percolator (like your grandparents had) too. I think the details set the mood. Of course it is your choice as to whether to use all of them or not. In fact, if you see something you like, it can be bought as a single item in game on Vignette. My items are not always in the store - but somewhere on the sim, so feel free to explore.

BTW - if someone can come up with some nice screen door textures for future builds - I would be sooo interested!

Simpler Times

He brought me flowers and a teddy bear and asked if I felt played or loved. What a question:). He has been with me for a year and he still takes me by surprise. Of course my reply was conditional - "Depends on why you gave them to me" I know we both smiled. Needless to say - I love this guy:)

Ok ok ok - no more mushy stuff today. Considering how many Victorian sims are on the grid - they are not well represented in my blog entries. Soooo - I decided something girlie and fun was in order today.

Ivalde to the rescue:) This dress is a winner - I love all the tiny little blue folds and the fabric drapes in the back making my ass pleasantly plump (just as any Victorian dress should). This dress comes in 4 rich colors (purple, red, teal and olive).

Had to have the hat!!!! How fun is that? The Flapper hair in blackberry made it even better.

I did go an awfully long time in SLshying away from hats. If you can build - just a little you can make this style fit. The hair is Flapper - (Blackberry) from ETD.

Really - I put on the hair then added the hat. Right clicked the hair and selected edit. Select "edit linked parts at the top of the little box. Zoom in a little on the hair. You will see one section of hair poking through - click on that one hair use the arrows to push the hair into your hat/hair (out of view). Close the edit box - Tadaaaa!! Easiest hat/hair combo EVER to fix!

Dress - Millie in purple - Ivalde
Hair - ETD Flapper - Blackberry
Skin - :GP: Classic-Pure (Still at Skin Fair!) As for the skin - I find anytime i dress Victorian I always choose a natural look - and who does it better than - Gala Phoenix:)
Hat - Hettie Elegance hat in black found at Elegance
Lighting - =RaC= Face Light AND Face Light- Skin Tone Illuminator (by Claire Harford) AND set my lights to A-9AM I kinda like the effect of all 3 of these things used together.
Location - Vignette
