Exploring With and Without your Partner

So here it is - Sunday morning and it's already been a good weekend.

I dared my partner (ok - maybe he doesn't show in my profile as partner, but he is:)) to enter a roleplay sim and make sure the coast was clear before I took the plunge.

I have a basic concern that I may pop into a roleplay area and be instantly gunned down. So, unarmed, he took the plunge. A few moments later he sent for me and off we went (without observer titles) to explore. The first person we met (the local police) didn't seem terribly informative.

I do seem to have a wicked case of ADD at times and at that point decided to zip out to find a more receptive environment. The idea being we would split up and find a perfect spot (cuz that's what we all seek on the sl grid) and then send for the other.

So as I went about exploring other sims, he decided to slip on the titler and continue where he was. I have come to the conclusion that men traveling alone in sl are true magnets for trouble. Kairos (my guy) is no exception.

Very quickly a lady crosses his path and wants to take him to met her um..group. You know, every role play is full of these kinds of groups. Soooo - he innocently follows her to a place where he would encounter a group women who are very clear. They think he's "hawt". Oh yes - he was iming me and keeping me well informed:). Now, I don't quite know how this happened but he was assigned a lovely mentor and off he went to her "special place" or "home" whatever you want to call it. Ah - at this point he knows she is indeed a vampire....

I must say I love it when he shares his adventures with me. While I was off watching two lizard men fight, he was off mingling with female vampires.

Remember, a sense of humour is a required trait when exploring roleplay sims. Someday soon I'll have to do a places list on the wickedest roleplay areas, but for now take a look at these interesting sites:

For those fashionistas out there, take a look at what I'm wearing today - I found it on Black Swan. One of my very favorite designers made it - Nef!! (from Ivalde's)

She pays such close attention to detail. Although you can easily get 3 looks out of all the pieces in the box, this is the look I chose to show off. Please keep in mind that I am also wearing a special skin found also on Black Swan, it has a feathered tatoo. That is the mark your seeing between the top of the bodice and the jacket/bolero at the top of my breast.

The dress has the perfect sculpted bustle and the gloves pull the look together for me. The part that initially caught my eye on the sales poster, was the skirt - check out the trim along the hemline. It's one of those girly girl accents that I love. For a different look - just take off the skirt - you'll be amazed at the pants and cuffs beneath it all. I figured I'd be pushing my luck with too many photos so I narrowed down my look and didn't show you all your options.

I decided to accent it all with some simple black pearl earings and the soft fun updo. Ah! the hair!! New realease at ::69:: called Miracle. If you zoom in close you can see the color changing bow on top. I truely appreciate when a designer takes the time to make color changing simple for everyone and this hair is a snap.

Places to Go AND Toys to Play With!!

I just love a good toy and this one is the best!

You get 5 gorgeous camera hats in the box (black, brown, red, white and pink). Wear it and click on it. It leaves your head and goes to check out whatever your own camera is looking at. So the next time you go to an event, click on the hat and then zip your camera over to check out the guy across the room!! How fun is that?

This means hat head is not acceptable. No trimming your hair to fit into this hat or you'll just look odd when the hat leaves your head. I found this hairstyle to fit beautifully and it was already in my closet.

The Camera Hat is $400L but well worth it. There are 2 gadget hats in the store, be sure you get the right one (but I love the Topter Hat too)

While at Curio Obscura, check out that freebie table!!! You wont regret it. I just love toy shops:)

As for the dress, the lushness on the texture drew me. The dress has such a beautiful flow.

Have you ever given any thought as to where you WOULDN'T go in Second Life? I have.

Top places I won't go to:

1. GOR Sims (which is a shame cuz I hear they have some beautiful Sims). I hear they don't allow women like me there.

2. Femdom Sims - They just scare the hell out of me!

3. Ponygirl Sims - This one is like watching a kinky trainwreck.

4. Camping Malls - You get to a popular mall and oh noooo...tons-o-campers. Avoid like the plague.

Pretties!!

Don't you love it when the a group freebie is this pretty? Hyasynth Tiramisu over at Silent Sparrow has outdone herself! As I slipped it on, I felt this stand out corset set needed just the right contrast to make it pop and I had just the skin that could do it.

This was a skin I bought at Another fundraiser (Which is no longer going on). You know, personally - I think this should be a year round Fundraiser. I loved that so many designers went outside their normal comfort zones and was absolutely thrilled at the great stuff they made. Let's do this one again sometime..please

This stunning hair is from Cake. I had seen another blogger mention it and I just had to try it on. My feet drug all the way to Cake. You see, I knew it was perfect, but unfortunately their prices are a bit steep. $375L for one color. We're not talking a little pack with 3 colors...noooooo, just one. A fat pack is *cough* $3000L. I stomped my feet and howled at the moon. Dang!! I couldn't resist and bought 3 colors.

Excellent job on the hair (Berlin)! Ladies, this one is worth the price. The curls bounce, the hair is full and the rich texture is perfect. It's absolutely beautiful!

Experiments

My partner Kairos and I tried a little experiment this past week. We decided to open up our relationship to others. Mind you this was MY idea. Since we've been together a year now, I thought it was time to add a bit of excitement to the relationship! Think about it - you keep the lover who means so much to you AND get occasional shallow sex on the side. Hey...it could work.



So off he went to gather new friend cards (in the quest for shallow sex)....and I went off to find mine. As he started to get card..after card.....after card, I started to get a little miffed. I did flirt, I have been told I have it in me to do it:) but I kid you not, no cards for me. So I looked at the two avis trying to find the problem.

Well - we didn't hide the fact that we were partners. OMG - is there a secret guy code no one told me about??? No one wanted to flirt with a partnered woman?

Kiaros on the other hand was having the time of his life! Yes, he told me every detail (that can be kinky too:). The ladies were all over him, to hell with the fact that he was partnered, in fact .... some seemed to get a charge out of trying to pull him away from me *cough* bitches *cough*

Sure, I could have gone to a free sex room, but that's just not the same. I'd had enough, and to be honest, he knew it bugged me that he was getting all the attention:). So he called the experiment to an end.

My question for couples out there - Would a little swapping out there hurt the relationship? It did not hurt ours this week. Yes, we did look at the swapper groups but all you find in those groups are singles. Hell, I'd be happy with couples we could just hang out with.

Anyway that was my adventure of the week.

Serendipity

I was at Silent Sparrow today looking at all her creative work and the Serendipity Suit called to me.

I found the trick with this outfit was to stay away from black boots - I needed a darker black texture on my many pair:( Then i had a Eureka moment! Brown boots (Maitreya)- of course. Be sure you go into appearance mode click the pants tab and go for pants narrow/loose tab so it will look right with your boots.


Steampunk is a style with attitude but i wanted a umm..vulnerable look. So I selected the [Aden] Edie (Black). This hair style is tough but still vulnerable looking and comes in 10 great colors. The skin is one of my new ones - Belleza- Douceur pale LM night Golden brown.

It's All in the Details

The rich colors and attention to detail in this steampunk dress make me feel...hmmm..noticed, when i go to the live music events.

The little cage like sleeves and the way the dress rides up in the front prevent it from being Victorian. This is the kind of dress that gives you attitude:)

Does Steampunk Count?

Well - it isn't vintage - *but it wishes it was!!! I figure it this way - it was inspired by vintage which i love, and it fits in with roleplay costumes which i DO plan to blog - Sooooo - yes! I do have a steampunk category.

Besides - steampunk is damn sexy!

Well - you cant do steampunk in SL without silentsparrow. This woman is great! the outfit i am wearing was a group gift (this one is worth one of your 25 slots). Go to the store - Silentsparrow.
Find the display to get a group invite - give them a day to respond:).

Then go back and wear your group tag - look at the little pool in the floor - you will find boxes of group freebies. The set i am wearing is called - Icicle Suite. It is free and in the water for members. I love the tones she works with - very unique designer in Second life.

My boots are a staple - from ETD (Calf Boots - black) Everyone needs these in their wardrobe - they are timeless.
