Yes, I've made changes on the Vignette sim.

I wanted a dance area with cuddles so I figured why not. When you have a chance - come check out the dance floors (4 of them). I wanted four because I look forward to changing their themes up a bit on occasion. You will also notice the silent film going on in the background. The movies are for all the folks in sl who might not be able to have the music cranked up. I find silent movies terribly romantic.. The music on the sim has changed a bit in order to reflect the new mood.

Not only are they great dance floors but you'll also find great little areas to sit and chat with friends and sweethearts. So stop by and take a look!

I sure hope everyone checked out Blonde's a few weeks ago when I blogged their amazing free apron. Well, check this one out -

Sometimes on those hunts we stumble across the greatest little stores. I found Blonde. OMG!! I'm jealous - her retro building skills are absolutely amazing. This is a "must see little store" for fun retro stuff.

Ladies - check out this gorgeous little retro/50's apron. It's FREE!! @ Blonde.

When you go to put it on you'll pause - "What am I gonna wear it with?" Sure, I could mod a fluffy 50's skirt and squeeze my ass into everything BUT, no need! Slip on a system skirt!

If your a savy retro diva you have this skirt in your closet already. It's the Gina highwaist pencil skirt at artilleri. So ladies - put on your system skirt ass, shimmy into your pencil skirt and put on this apron! Gotta LOVE the details!

Then I thought - gotta have a white reto shirt somewhere in the closet. Woohoo - I found one! The Fleur Mars Shirt White - it was perfect.

Let's go with something a bit unpredictable with the shoes....black glasses - black hair.... hell, go for black shoes. The little red bows are just the right touch.

Some Vintage Hair Styles are Timeless

After all the scrambling to tidy up [V]Vignette, I decided to to take a break and make hair.

I swear it was easier to make this hair than to find the little black dress she wore in the movie while standing next to that tree. Here's a second shot of it. I wanted the straight neckline and the bow tied sweetly over each shoulder. Sadly, I just couldn't find one in second life.

So.....I decided to give this lovely dress a chance and I must say I'm glad I did. The neckline ruffle is beautiful and the lacy petticoat peeking out at the hemline is the perfect touch.

The only inconvenience is it's chest attachment point. My black pearls lost the argument with the neck ruffle.:)

This is such a classy romantic dress.

Audrey was modeled after Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina (1954). Zoom in to look at the top of the head on this one. I was able to find just the right curve.

Minx is fun, contemporary and a bit disorganized.

Cherries and Chocolate

Absolutely luscious - like Cherries and Chocolate - Yum!

This 1950's style is one of Nef's new releases over at Ivaldes. If you haven't seen her latest - you need to.

These beautiful new pumps over at Shiny Things are just perfect with the brown Cosette - and look close at that sweet bow - It can be changed to 11 different colors!! I could have changed the bow to pink with just a click! Woohoo! These shoes have a great retro feel to them!

Hair - ETD's Vasha in Espresso, it feels shiny, silky, and soft. It even seems to have a highlight that works especially well with this dress.

As for skin, Gala has a Brownie skin that was the perfect fit! A nice neat manicure in brown and brown pearls (white tinted brown) and the outfit was complete!

What a busy busy week. Everyone deserves a bit of time off, sooo...weave your fingers through your partners and tug...you now have places to go and things to do:)

In honor of this orange time of year, I couldn't resist showing this one off.

This lovely dress is incredibly feminine. What a great combination of colors. The many oranges and yellows are sure to put you in the mood for fall. I must say, the highlights in the hair and the rich darker color of the shoes make this look a keeper!

Tonight, I'm in the mood for some roleplay. I, Rachel Boram plan to dress like a man and pick up my sweetie (Kairos) who will be dressed as a woman. The object of the game is simple - He seems to always attracts a certain type of woman. Seems I was the one exception. I plan to role play him and show him how he enables that type of behavior in a woman.

So keep your fingers crossed that I don't mess this one up:)

The cosy sweater sets the season... and the orange petticoat gives it all such a festive playful look.

Every once-in-awhile, I'll find something (not fashion) that catches my eye. Take a peek at the two smaller photos. This is such a great sculptie pumpkin set. You can place them individually or as a set. Wish I had made them. Honestly, I was using 120 prims on Vignette for a small pumpkin patch. This set is only 13 prim...and copies...for the most luscious pumpkins ever!

The tree (comes from the same shop), comes with the pumpkin set beneath it..and the it has tiny lights coming from it(all for only 15 prims).

Vintage is MORE than Fashion!

Yup - I am a lazy woman.

Someone asked if I sold my houses and I thought dang, i should. So I've added a few things to slexchange and boxed up the structures for sell at the Vignette model homes.

So am am posting these three which are now for sale.

First is the old vintage art deco movie theater, the Romana - the boxed set is mod/copy and has some sweet seats in the theater with lots of different poses. Stop by and chick it out or take a peek on slexchange.

Second is a 1920's kit home inspired by the Sears (Walton's Rest). This one will remind you of summers at grandma's when you were a kid.

Third is Summer Delight which is also inspired by the old 1920's - 30's kit homes. Check out all that incredible detail for only 111 prim - can't beat that!

This is such a fun look.

It's simple, and the dress is an incredible $1L. Cant beat that. For retro, 1-800 Bettie's always has some fun stuff.

The halter shape of the top really emphasizes the 50's look, I have to admit, the red trim makes the look pop! Yay for bare backs:)) - it makes me feel pretty.

I'm not sure how long the price will be around on this one - so go get it now at 1-800 Bettie's.

Be sure you slip on your avi system skirt shape. If you don't have one - not to worry. Save your shape exactly as it is right now and call it something like Rachel, then go into appearance and slim down your hips and flatten your butt a bit. save your shape again but call it something like Skinny Rachel.

Accessories - The earrings and bangles come with it, and the seamed stockings at Insolence was a no brainer.

Thank goodness for Blaze. I had the devil of a time finding just the right shade of shoes. Check it out - they have mod pumps. Thank you thank you thank you!! (I did tint it a tiny bit darker)

I just love it when retro/vintage items are released.

This absolutely exquisite release over at Ivalde has such a sense of style and grace. Nef has paired up this creamy rich antik fabric with accents of red. This is a great combination that really works!

The embroidery on the heart shaped bodice makes me sigh..it's gorgeous. Of course the satin pleated sach and red trim underskirt gives it just the perfect touch!

It comes with the gloves! Yay! classy and sexy:)

Whew! This has been a long week yay for Fridays!!

This little dress from BBBM has been mentioned by lots of other bloggers, but I thought - what the heck, I'll put in my 2 cents. When you first put it on you'll think...that's a really high waist, but then you slip on the skirt...make sure it lines up...then it happens, you fall in love with it. The dress has personality. It's sassy and fun.

The texture on the skirt is amazing, and the shadows on the skirt seem to ad a certain dimension that is rarely captured in SL skirts. Oh, and the skirt layers beautifully.

For hair, I went with the Rita style. I think it added a certain playfulness.

I wanted a bold sassy look and I think this pulled it off - Yay for retro!!

Happy Father's Day!

When I was little my dad took me to see Pippi Longstocking (i really wanted to see that movie). Of course it was the worst movie ever!! My dad sat through the whole thing and at the end looked at me real innocent like and said - "so you liked this?"

He loved me enough to sit through that awful movie, how could I pop his bubble and tell him I thought the movie was horrible. So I smiled and he smiled and we both had a great day. I was smart enough to know he just wanted to make me happy and spend time with me.

Well I shared a tiny moment of Dad.

Busy Busy Day

Real Life is keeping me busy today but I wanted to show this gorgeous late 1950's dress released this week over at Ivalde's. Four incredible colors to choose from. Take a close look at the texture, it's strong but not overpowering.

The waist band shows just the right amount of crinkle and the sculpted sleeves make the dress a stand out. This dress is a winner.

And a big thanks to Beulah Mills who put up with my 20 questions regarding the eras the two new dresses at Ivalde's represent. Inspiration comes from all decades, but it is always good for me to sort them in my closet:)

The hair is a soft sweeping updo. As updo's go it really has a fresh look to it. If you haven't had a chance to make it to Aoharu, please do - this is one to keep an eye on.

Ok, I know my lips are looking a bit big in this photo, but I sometimes have to adjust them depending on which skin I'm wearing. I might have forgotten to unplump them on this one but heck - i do like to wear my lips a bit full in general.

It's downright luscious. This texture has the most beautiful shadows. Honestly - the fit is just perfect.

I love the neckline and the little open triangle. The whole suit has a teasing quality to it - love it love it love it!

The hair is called Kate and the color was just perfect. I really do like the custom color Packs at Dernier Cri.

As an example i can buy a 5 pack of this style - I don't have to pick a color right at that moment. Later as I am dressing, I can put on the hair, wear the hud and tap a color.

That hair will then be dyed. Take it off, drop it on the ground ... pick it back up to get the mod permissions. Very simple and very convenient.

Plans for the day?

Well, I plan to be in my workshop so i wanted something comfortable and a bit summery to wear. I just love these retro shorts. Question is - are they more of the Gidget style of the late 50's OR early 60's? I guess in my mind I see more of the late 50's Sandra Dee on the beach style, so heck let's call this retro 50's.
