Something Old, Something New

I saw this stunning dress and I just had to have it. When I think of Ivalde, the first thing that comes to mind is always vintage. I admit it, Nef is amazingly talented regardless as to her styles. This might just be the first modern/contemporary outfit I've ever bought at her place and WOW, was it worth it!

Of course, wearing vintage hair was a snap for me!

Two months now since my breakup with Kairos and I'm trying to move on. I've actually flirted with a few, but I find the clever ones live in foreign countries and the timing bites.

I've tried a ball room or two with very..uncomfortable results..Eww! (thank goodness for mute). Old friends have been incredibly supportive but whining on their shoulders stopped some time back.

I think it's harder to meet that "great person" the second time around. Yesh..all those expectations. Two have even asked me to "change my look just for them" OMG , HELL NO!! Can't believe they asked. One wanted the "overblown" look of an older woman with bad plastic surgery. I swear - I went into sl shock on THAT one. He seemed so normal!

On a positive note, I am more optimistic lately and try not to take any of them seriously:)

A Messy Day for a Working Girl

Sometimes you just have to take a risk ... go on hunts ... play in sl shopping games ... that's what I've done this time around. Summer Choice 2009 - honestly - you can't go wrong on this one! Shop at one of the listed stores and grab a card...go get it stamped at the 20 stores and at the end you get to select from a nice range of amazing freebies!

My first card was used to grab this freebie artist apron and paint brush. It lets me feel creative and sloppy and ..well...it gives me a bit of atitude. The rest was thrown together with things already in my closet.

Hmmm...lets see...now i need to use my second card for another nice freebie. *Goes to check the freebie shopping list again*

Sweet Stuff

Today I wanted something a bit gentler. I do enjoy a soft, sweet look.... about time to give it a compartment of it's own. You'll see me wear this type of thing on days I feel vulnerable. The dress is downright adorable - I was attracted to the patchwork look of it. With the soft colors and just the right length, it was a must have.

Wow, was I amazed - I had a set of perfect socks. I picked these up in a sock machine. Give the machine $10L and it would spit out one of 9 pairs (they are transferable in case you get duplicates). As for hair - woohoo a freebie! I do wish it was mod but heck, I'm grateful to get it and love it.

Check out this skin - innocent and oooh soooo soft looking. Small shop but you'll be glad you stopped by. The boots I picked up at M'z. I gave in and grabbed the fat pack :)

Toy, Retro AND Role Play all in One

So, why is it a toy? Take a look at this beautifully done cigarette tray. It has a very handy script in it which hands out goodies. All you have to do is toss in the full perm item you want it to pass out (I put in the hair I was wearing and a landmark to Vignette). Now every time a random person clicks my tray - they get the treat!! How cool is that??

What a great retro outfit and costume. I was thrilled with the stockings - nicely done with the seam heading up the cheek. Since the dress is so short, I think the stockings adds a bit of tease to the whole look. The little pill box hat can perch on pretty much any hair in your inventory with ease (whew! gotta love that!). Little things much a big difference.

As for the skin - time to pull out a sweet vintage pin up skin - I think it brings the whole look together.
