I wanted to take a quick moment to show you this new one from Evie's closet.

I tend to really like textures that maintain a lush look, and this one does accomplish just that.

It's such a flowing romantic gown. *sighs*

The hair wreath is in the box! Its very delicate and it's easy enough to go into edit to shift it about if you need it to. Beautiful accessories are a major selling point for me!

This is my first day back at my real job after vacation. It was soooo hard to get up and going this morning. Yesh, lots of work to catch up on.

A Day in the Kingdom of Sand

Now where would I role play with such an outfit?

I chose Kingdom of Sand.

Once i put on the explorer tag which was provided I teleported to the city - Oh my - the city is stunning. I did wonder - would I be the only woman not in silks?

10 minutes later I found that some were dressed as free women and one or two visitors were dressed as they like - but most were wearing silks. I did not feel out of place at all. As i approached the city - many people were at the entrance (the Sim was almost full). I saw slaves, Masters and Citizens. They greeted me kindly and let me ask tons of questions.

Two of the women, Kalani and Akron were incredibly helpful. I asked if there was any place i should avoid and the answer was the catacombs. Well...hey...as they offered to take me there i figured - Why not!!

The journey was long and confusing. Makes me wonder if this was a hidden sort of place, hmm. As we entered I heard sounds in the distance. Sounded like a master handling his slave...we paused and kept moving forward.

Some live in the catacombs...the undead. One seemed to have slipped up from below to investigate us. She seemed a dangerous sort. Kalani and Akros answered her questions and we decided not to go any deeper.

I was not there to just take photos - I was there to explore and poke about. I don't think I've ever entered a roleplay Sim where it was so easy to make friends. For all the folks I met there today, a big Thanks!
As soon as I post this blog I plan to return to the city, perhaps to go deeper into the catacombs by myself.

As for what I am wearing:

I could have worn silks here - but I wanted something more mysterious. I could wear the mask or not - as I could wear the cape or not. This is a very flexible outfit that is beautifully made. The hip part of the tunic is on the skirt layer - so be prepared to wear your system skirt shape. Of course you could choose not to wear the lower tunic and just go with the loose bloomer look. Lots of possibilities here!

The skulpties were very well done and i love the edges of the cape!

For the eyes I wanted something piercing - something that would make a person look twice (since everything else was covered up:)

I also added some simple black stockings from my closet and my Comfy Boots from Shiny Things. I wanted boots with a moccasin feel to them..flats. I wanted the look of an Explorer.

As for this dress - I am going for a medieval surf look.

The photos do not do it justice. The fabric has a potato sack feel about it. The dress has a nice flow to it and also has nice laces up the sides to give it just the right touch.

It comes with sleeves long or rolled in the box. Due to my AO, the rolled worked much better. This is a working girls dress and I absolutely love it.

I thought what better for this sort of dress than a messy pulled back hairstyle. It is very period appropriate. this is great role play hair!

A Quiet Night

I don't have much time to explore today - but thought I would mention this pretty little medieval dress from Kouse's Sanctum. This beautiful dress comes in seven rich jeweled colors.

As you look at the dress, notice the shadows under the breasts? As you zoom in close...they do become more obvious. Personally, I think they compliment the dress:)

I had not been to Kouse's before, nice stuff!. The store seems a little tricky to get to. Follow the landmark. As you land, you will be next to a menu. Teleport from that sign directly to the store.

Medieval hair styles are always tougher for me to find. I did think this hair style would fit several eras and luckily it doesn't do that weired prim eye lash trick. You know the trick...no matter how much you tug your hair out of the lash path...it still peeks at you. It's always the blond and platinum hairs that do that. Drives me nuts!

As we shout, tease and poke at each other over the internet, we sometimes forget it's an unforgiving media. Daily, we chatter about the game and it's participants in articles and blogs but wait, take a moment..and think.

So many of us didn't want to use "voice" in game, because typing allowed us a moment to pause before we responded. Yet as we step outside the game and run to our separate corners on the internet, we forget to pause. Family, friends and coworkers stumble about the internet. Surrrre, most of them don't know we have second lives, much less what our avi names are, but every once in awhile, they do.

I guess I'm quiet tonight because i hate seeing people not given a fair chance. *Sighs* Well, most people won't get what I'm talking about today, and that's ok. I know I'm rambling.

Hmm..did I take my medication today? Rachel heads toward the medicine cabinet.

Ok, time to post a fashion blog. This is a tricky way to redirect. The Lindens think we fall for this sort of ploy.....Silly Lindens.

Check out this dress. It comes with an amazing 3 skirt attachments!! The gown skirt, the slim skirt, and the full skirt (this is the one that pokes out at the hip). I've seen the skirts that poke out at the hip before in game. Why do they do that - is it a fashion thing I don't know about?

Regardless, I love this medieval dress! Plenty of detail in the bodice to feast our eyes on. Want a cherry on top? How's this one....it's only $100L. Can you believe it?? Sure, she does have other colors available, but this one, Maiden, Royal Gold, is only $100L.

This stunning necklace - I don't see how she does it! Even if I zoom in all the way, it's all so tiny, my eyes go fuzzy. It's a piece of art.

For the Love of It!

This stunning Medieval inspired gown was created by Evangeline Miles. Some folks tend to build so they can open a store (so they can make money) - but not this lady. She does it for the art. It shows in everything she makes.

I have yet to see a dress in game flow as well as this one. Enlarge the photo and take a close look at this one. Under the draping folds there is a system skirt. This does give it a bit of a fuller effect. This gown comes in several jeweled colors - drop by and take a peek.

The jewelry with it's cream and gold tones along with the blond pulled back hair, adds a touch of elegance.

Medieval/Renaissance/Middle Ages??

I had a GREAT time at the Relay for Life Clothing Fair

All 3 of the above were purchased there (I went ahead and listed the store links too), but please, try the fair first. Give what you can, it's important to all of us.

All three of the above have something in common - You would see them all at your local Ren Fair. I see them as Renaissance/Medieval/Middle Ages. I admit it, I had to look this one up. Where does one age end exactly and the other begin? I am thinking 1400 - 1650 on these. The experts out there might want to whisper in my ear if I'm wrong.
