A Few Product Updates

I've decided to start going back and updating a few products.

The Circus Lolita Pumps have been changed a little:
  • I've narrowed them
  • added an alpha layer and got rid of the invisible-prim
  • Added texture script so now all you need isw one pair in your inventory - wear and select the color you need (very handy

The BabyDoll Boots:
  • resized
  • added an alpha layer and got rid of the invisible-prim
  • you don't have to get them all individually, they are now all in one box (to save you time).

Warm Winter Boots:
  • Connected the tops and bottom of the boots so you only have one attachment that bends better with your foot
  • added an alpha layer and got rid of the invisible-prim
  • you don't have to get them all individually, they are now all in one box (to save you time).
  • MOST important - a resize script has been added since they were made a tad small and now if the guys wanna wear them - enjoy!

I will take time to update all the shoes to meet current standards so please be patient. You can tell changes have been made if they are displayed on a chalkboard background.

Where on Earth to Find Free Stuff?

#1

Suuure…go to a freebie mall at any time and grab a box of gestures, box of clothes or any other random box of freebies you can imagine. You have no clue what’s in that box but dangit, it’s free! Well, once unpacked, you usually find oh, 500 items in the box (low made up number).

None of the clothes seem to be in handly little Folders that separate complete outfits (Ugg!). All the bits seem to have been made ages ago and you have a nightmare trying to figure out what articles of clothing were meant to be used to make an outfit.

#2

Across the grid you have the “Under 30” crowd of free items. Usually an old creation of a designer. Available for avis who are under 30 days old. Good intentions, BUT - How many of you knew about this category of freeness at THAT age? Folks, the avis that get the most out of this are alts…admit it, you know it’s true.

I highly urge designers to change the 30 day standard!! Think about giving it 6 months to a year.

#3

Group Gifts (the yummy free item). The cream of the crop in the free field! I use Ivalde as an example here (yay Nef!). Here is where designers find the people who truly appreciate what they create. Of course many..MANY of us join a group, grab the free item and run like hell. Honestly, I don’t care if people do that and in fact I do understand it.

25 groups???? My groups are always at capacity with groups I just HAVE to be in (building, business and such). I only have maybe 3 floater groups and dang, no room at all for the kinky stuff!

#4

Then there are stores like mine. To be honest, I can’t think of other designers who build and give it all away. If you can think of any that give ALL items made to the community, let me know – I would love to keep a list here. I’m not talking resale old stuff either. Everything I build I know will be given away, but that doesn’t stop me from doing everything I can to make it my best work to date.

As for this weeks goodies at Vignette:

I thought I would try to do a little something for the guys by way of hair. I swear I tried on 5 male shapes trying to get this hair to fit as many avis as possible. As for the ladies, I was in the mood for something warm and cosy and thought this would be a nice addition to your winter wear. Oh, and the hat changes to 9 colors on touch!

So stop by and see if it fits. If you like it.....they are all free (all colors).

Merry Christmas!

Tragic Lolita

Summer Choice 2009 - If you haven't played it by now - do it! The winning prizes are incredible...well worth it all.

So i guess you can tell what i did with my second card

Worn:

Outfit: (with socks and shoes!) - *Edelweiss* School Blazer
Hair - BP*Autumn loose braid/silver
Skin - *minajunk skin Cry*

Men -

Two months now since my breakup with Kairos and I'm trying to move on. I've actually flirted with a few, but I find the clever ones live in foreign countries and the timing bites.

I've tried a ball room or two with very..uncomfortable results..Eww! (thank goodness for mute). Old friends have been incredibly supportive but whining on their shoulders stopped some time back.

I think it's harder to meet that "great person" the second time around. Yesh..all those expectations. Two have even asked me to "change my look just for them" OMG , HELL NO!! Can't believe they asked. One wanted the "overblown" look of an older woman with bad plastic surgery. I swear - I went into sl shock on THAT one. He seemed so normal!

On a positive note, I am more optimistic lately and try not to take any of them seriously:)

Well, off to explore... all kinds of things:)

1930's and a Little Teasing...

First the Teasing Adventure -
Select a night when you're alone in sl..no date ..no chatty friends. Just you and maybe a glass of wine. ANYONE can do it without ever leaving their SL home.

1 - Look in your groups and select one. I selected the SL Things to Do group...and looked at all the members online.
2 - Select a person (hell yes - it was a man!) and im him randomly. Yes ladies and gents - they MUST be online.
3 - im them - yup just wiggle your fingers at them and watch their reaction. Their sloooow response (cuz they're scared they might have met you and sort of ..forgot:))
4 - tell them you're a stranger - no matter what - dont tp them or go to them..stay only in im from a distance.
5 - A safe word must be given to them. My safe word for the night was "shhhhh" if they said it I had to leave them alone.

I must admit my goal was to catch the sl man "off guard". Yeeeees, do some teasing. I swear, I contacted 3 men that night and had some of the most interesting conversations of my sl life. They seemed much more candid than the men you see at a concert or out while exploring.

As one of the men concentrated so hard on whatever he was building i randomly imed him with random comments "nonono...move it to the left" "do you HAVE to pick that color" until he laughed and yes, he never once used his safe word:)

Ok ladies - just try it - The men will amaze you at how they land on their feet:) remember - you are both in that group so you have SOMETHING in common...run with it!

Now the 1930s!

Thank goodness Nef is back at Ivalde. You have no idea how much my wardrobe depends on this woman!

Take a peek at what she returned with.

This stunning 1930's suit seems so simple when you first notice it...look closer. From the beautiful buttons up the back to the little nips and tucks at the waist, it has to be one of the most tailored vintage dresses I've seen in a long time.

I wanted something vibrant to make it "pop" so I selected a bold red hair from TRUTH. Yup, I'm one of those hair designers who feels perfectly comfortable wearing other designers wares.

Of course the skin had to back up that hair:) so I selected a great lipstick with a softer grey eyeshadow over at Curio.

The heels were sweet and perfect - yay for color changing scripts!!!! This pair has oodles of bow colors to select from and a bit of silver was all I needed.

Dress - Ivalde, Laurende (1930's)
Shoes - Shiny Things, Tuli Pumps
Skin - Curio, :GP: Petal [Dark] June-Swan 2
Hair - >TRUTH< href="http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kahmiya%20Cove/162/209/26">REDSKULL*
Eyes - Curio, Rita Eyes - Grey (Large)

I don't wear a lot of jewelry - but this one had my name all over...I love it!

Well - off to explore and if I'm very good, I'll even build some today:)

Sharing Your Man!

How many long term Second Life couples do you know? I’m talking couples that have been together for at least a year. They are incredibly rare. These are the couples that are beyond the infatuation stage. They have absolute trust and faith in each other. Many have ridden the rollercoaster of drama but they always hang on.

There comes a moment when they have a real relationship breakthrough. Maybe they’re on the dance floor checking out the other people in the room. Some stranger im’s one of you and begins to flirt (Let’s be honest – it’s always some woman hitting on your guy).

Your guy being the fun adventurous sort that he is, shows you the flirty IM of the “other woman”. You begin to honestly trust this tall handsome guy you’re dancing with. For goodness sake, the two of you have been together “forever” by sl standards. You’ve learned to argue, adventure and explore with him.

At this point in the dance you know he’s coming home with you. The guy wants to be exactly where he is. His flirting continues with the other lady but oddly enough he shares the dialogue with you. No doubt about it - it’s just a silly flirtation. Goodness knows after a year you’ve flirted a bit yourself with other men.

You realize flirting with others is fun, because you’re sharing that flirting game with your partner. The partner you love. You are both smiling ….teasing with each other …and with others …and it’s good.

At some point in my own two year relationship with Kairos, we learned to share. Our relationship blossomed. We realized we could open the relationship, but no longer wear our partnerships in our profiles. Shoot, if we did THAT no one would ask me to dance and not as many ladies would whisper in his ear.

I guess I should get to the point here. Where are the couples who enjoy spending time with other couples? We are a sharing flirty couple who want to hang out with other sharing flirty couples. We tried joining the swinging groups, but as you click through their member ship list you realize…dang - hardly any partnered people there. Besides – they seem to just be on the look out for sex and only sex.

My guy and I wanted more…we were greedy. We wanted friends – flirty teasing friends. The kind that know how to share if the moment comes but love their own partners.

Ok, I’m getting off my box and heading off to explore.

OH Cr@p!!

Ever have one of those moments. Someone sends you an im:

"uh, I think I just trashed your sim"

I text back "haha - no you didn't"

"uh..the mountains are missing"

ok - be right there.........

Well crap!! I sold es0 a tiny bit of land. Could she have had the power to wipe out the land all over the Sim? I have given her no special powers but DANG!! She was right.

She had attempted to edit her little plot of land and hit the revert button. In the process the entire Sim was affected. This meant all my mountains, caves and even the lake were gone..things had come flying back to my inventory. The place was trashed.

I panicked and issued a support ticket for a rollback. But after 24 hours still nothing from the Lindens. I am contemplating a rebuild. So due to the store being blocked by a stray mountain, I am closing the Sim for a few days while I straighten this out or rebuild. If you are in my group or on my friends list, you do have access, but please be patient.

When RL and SL Collide

As I googled this week I stumbled onto my sisters blog. I didn't even know she had one, so I mentioned it to her and then she asked "Do YOU have a blog". Sooo....I mentioned this one.

After work I turned on SL and 2 minutes later I get this im from what I thought was a complete stranger. "It's me" Well, heck we all get them. Everytime our sl friends make a new alt.... so it took me a second to catch on.

Ohhhh...es0 is my rl sister! So then I paused and thought oh noooo..she'll read my profile. How do I explain Kairos to her? How do I make her realize SL is not JUST a sexual playground? To me it's great art, good music, a coloring book, Barbies and good friends. I wanted her to see the creative possibilities.

Much to my surprise she didn't seem at all taken aback. She is determined to build. So I pushed her to get hair, and an ao. I don't know if she needs skin shopping, she seems to have found a nice free one on her own. Then I gave her a place in my sky to live and build. Next come sl classes.

It has actually been fun showing her things. I had forgotten how difficult the learning curve was here. She has even met Kairos now and they seem just fine. *Whew*

In rl she makes beautiful jewelry and is a creative perfectionist. I am looking forward to watching her grow and build. I hope for some vintage beadwork out of it at some point:).

Well, I also wanted to share this trim vintage 1940s dress with you from Ivalde. The collar is soft and warm and the hand drawn details are just what this look needs. I also like the simple finish on the hem.

As you look at the back of the dress check out the details on the zipper. It just doesn't get better than that. As for the cherry on top...I would say the ass. The shading is perfect!!! A nice worn look that accents the curves - gotta have it!

Dress - Ivalde, Lauretta

RFL - It's time

So what are you up to today?

I decided to drop in over at the RFL SIMS (35 of them). So much care, attention and love has gone into these projects.

I stumbled into Survivor Camp, and cried. As a 4th generation Texan this particular site spoke to my heart.

We have a huge event in Houston each year in which wagon trains pour into the city. We see them inching their way along... past the rural pastures, through the suburbs and across some of the larges and highest freeways in the world. Traffic stops.

The wagons begin to gather. It is a time of Celebration and Rodeo. When seen not in the news but right there..traveling past your business, restaurant, truck, and neighborhoods they were a powerful reminder of all our heros. They are a symbol of strength and tradition. Mom would always get so excited seeing them.

It's odd how some small thing could trigger such a powerful memory of my mom, my rock, my hero. She lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Love you Mom!

Please donate. Find a luminarie - (they are trailed along the sidewalks). Light one with your donation...Celebrate and Remember, it's a tough fight, we need to do this.

*Sighs*

I may not be able to post as much this week. My SL partner and I have had to step back from each other. I've only had one partner and we had been together for well over a year as first friends, then more:)

Relationships can end for any number of reasons:
Cheating
Boredom
They get on your nerves
Clingyness
You don't love each other
Taking you for granted
Constant Arguments
you have nothing in common but Chemistry...
....I could go on and on.

There is one other reason, a much more complicated one. How many times does it need to be said? SL and RL should never EVER mix. Well, if that's true - then it's not love.

As you drive your car and think of the other or move about the day changing your schedule a bit so you can spend time with him/her.....At these points, it leaves the game. It is real.

Most of us have RL family, jobs, community. So how do we balance not only our time, but our feelings? Does something have to give? So does this mean we stand between our loved one and their real life? their spouse? their job? their community?

I guess what I am saying is that sometimes you break up because you love each other.

I'm rambling. well off to the shower.
